The Pressure to Look Super Feminine

By Elen Hanszen

In popular culture today there is a lot of pressure to look a certain way in order to be considered feminine. Movies stars and model can exaggerate this especially when their unique features are emphasized in film and photos. Generally, fuller lips, and cheeks, larger eyes and perfect skin is the order of the day in movies and on television. Major surgery is not always the answer to achieve these looks, and women are always seeking way to enhance their beauty. Keeping one's youthful appearance for longer can be done with some relatively minor adjustments to lifestyle, instead of the permanent look that major surgery will leave with you.

Aging shows up in many places, but the lips are one of the more noticeable and happen earlier. The use of makeup can actually add to this issue, as the lines appear around the mouth and lips can appear to have less volume. Full soft lips are not just a sign of beauty, but also a sign of youth. Fortunately, your lips are one of the simplest fixes without the need for surgery. Lips that no longer have as much volume can be enhanced by the less invasive use of fillers.

Perlane, Restylane, and Juvederm are examples of hyaluronic acid fillers that work better than semi or permanent filler types, in order to enhance the lips. There are no uneven or bumpy spots after using these, and an adjustment can be made after treatment to create the desired result if necessary.

The same process is useful to help correct other areas like near the eyes where dark circles sometimes form, and cheek areas that are sunken can be filled. The muscles of your lower eyelids are the cause of chronic dark circles, as they can be seen through the thinner skin under the eye lid. When there is no subcutaneous fat between the skin and the muscle, the area appears dark and sunken. People will not be able to tell that this process has occurred when it is done by an expert doctor and adjustments are made following the treatment.

It is not a sign of femininity to have wrinkles on the forehead and lines near the eyebrows. Looking younger is a big part of what today's culture believes that feminine women should be. What looks good is a gently lifted eyebrow, no crows feet lines or brow pinch, and a forehead with reduced lines that is still able to move. When Botox is administered by an experienced professional, expressions should still be natural looking to others.

We all have unblemished skin in our youth, but when we get older, spots appear and other issues can occur that make our skin less than flawless. Chemical peels are a way to offset some of these results of aging, but the type of peel that is most suitable can sometimes be hard to decipher.

Chemical peels can effectively treat facial concerns like aging skin, fine wrinkles, dark spots, acne, creases, loss of elasticity in the skin, and other concerns. There are surgeries that will remove some of the extra skin under the lower eyelid, but a chemical peel is a much less intrusive choice. The eyelid area can be enhanced greatly by having a chemical peel that will make you appear younger and more healthy, and it is a minimally invasive process.
